From Creativity to Course Corrections — And Why Revamp Resonates More Than Relaunch

Updated: Sep 23, 2025

Clint looks out at images that represent social media engagement, working with AI, finding your way, and creativity.

Hi, I’m Clint, founder of C-Sure Consulting. In this week’s edition of C-Shorts, I’m looking back at year one of running my business — the highs, the hurdles, and the unexpected lessons that came from balancing entrepreneurship with home education. Now that life has changed and I have more time to focus, I’m sharing how I plan to put that energy to work...

🚀 It's Not a Relaunch, It's a Revamp

It’s been almost a year since I officially founded C-Sure Consulting, and looking back I feel proud of what I’ve been able to build, even with limited time. Our decision to home-educate our eldest meant my working hours were short, but that actually helped me slow down and take careful, deliberate steps.

Now, both boys are back in mainstream school (week two and going well so far!), and I’ve got the rare luxury of time to revisit my business and make some changes. I’m not relaunching the business, I’m revamping it... I instinctively knew that 'revamp' was the right word to use here, but I had to look up its meaning to be sure. That's when I found that it originated in the early 19th century as a term for repairing footwear, which I thought made for a nice analogy: Fixing things up, polishing, and getting ready for the next steps... 🎨 Creativity, Content & LinkedIn Lessons

When I first started posting on LinkedIn last year, I was incredibly excited. I wrote carefully crafted articles, supply chain tips, inspirational quotes, and even polls. In my head, I thought my 1,500 followers would all see them, some would like them, and some would maybe even message me to book my services.

What actually happened was… well, not that at all... Sometimes it felt like I was talking into a void, sending posts out into the LinkedIn universe and hearing nothing back. The likes and comments didn’t come. And that was quite discouraging at first.

But I kept at it because I realised I really enjoy the process. I enjoy thinking about what people might find useful, writing about it in a way that feels true to me, and then bringing it to life visually with my designs. For me, creativity is not just a marketing tool. It's a way of thinking and solving problems, a way of keeping my mind engaged, and honestly, I think it's even good for my mental health. 🤖 AI or 'I', The Balance Between Control and Capacity

A chance meeting at the Midlands Business Expo led to a follow-up call with an AI Expert this week. I was sceptical at first, but curiosity got the better of me. He told me how AI could help me automate my business, from content creation to admin, and we had some really interesting conversations.

I can absolutely see a time when I’ll use AI to take some of the repetitive admin tasks off my plate. But right now, I want to keep full control of my business. It is my business after all.

I also read several news articles recently about AI that resonated with me... There are so many AI news articles right now! One article explained how educators are using AI to speed up marking and communication. Another discussed how AI is being deployed in business settings not just to automate, but to predict, optimise, and even replace certain decision-making tasks. These types of stories make me both excited and cautious at the same time...

On one hand, I see huge potential: freeing up time, reducing repetitive admin work, letting me focus more on strategy, creativity, and helping clients. On the other hand, I don’t want something that makes C-Sure Consulting feel generic or robotic. I don’t want to lose the joy of writing or the authenticity of speaking from my own experience.

So for now, AI can wait. And when I do use it, it will be to give me more time for the creative, problem-solving work that I enjoy most — not to replace the parts that make this business my own. 🌈 Sibby’s Spark: Creativity as Connection Speaking of creativity, my wife, Sibby, is on a mission to help people through creative expression. She is currently developing a course that uses creativity as a way for people to work through blocks in their lives. It's great to see her putting her energy into something that feels like her calling. You can explore Sibby’s work here: Healing Writes The course isn’t on there yet, but it’s on its way.

I think there's something universal about Sibby's course concept. Whether you run a consultancy or you are working through personal challenges, creativity helps unlock solutions, reduce stress, and build resilience. 📣 Platforms, Profiles & Putting Myself Out There

Another big step for me recently has been joining SCMDOJO as a listed expert.

I've also created my first course offering, the Supply Chain Health Check – Virtual Workshop It includes a pre-session questionnaire, a 3-hour Teams workshop, and a follow-up report with actionable recommendations on planning, inventory, and process efficiency.

One thing I've realised is that visibility isn’t just about posting on LinkedIn. There are other, better platforms out there to get you in front of the right people. Trade shows and networking events have been some of the most productive uses of my time recently, and now joining SCMDOJO feels like another way to open doors and connect with people who need my help. Here's the link to my profile if you're interested: Clinton Spencer on SCMDOJO You can reach out to me on there or contact me directly. I’d love to chat about how C-Sure Consulting can help your business. ➡️ Lessons Learned & Looking Ahead So this is what I’m focusing on as I step into the next chapter of C-Sure Consulting:

  • Keep creativity at the core This is what gives me energy and makes the work more meaningful.

  • AI is a tool, not a takeover I’ll use it where it saves me time, but my content is my content.

  • Consistency over perfection I don’t need every post to go viral. I'll keep showing up and sharing things that matter.

  • Get out there More trade shows, more networking, more real conversations.

  • Real value every time I'll leave clients with something that becomes theirs and makes a lasting difference.

🤝 Let’s Keep Connected So that’s where I stand as I step into year two: hopeful, focused, ready to grow, but also grounded by values, creativity, and authenticity.

What about you? How do you balance efficiency against authenticity?

What parts of your work are you trying to revamp right now?

I’d love to hear your thoughts. Please comment below or contact us directly. Until next time...
